Stroke is the leading cause of complex disability in the UK. The clinical and support needs following a significant stroke can be profound, affecting mobility, communication, swallowing, cognition, and continence. Many stroke survivors require skilled nursing support to live safely at home.

We work alongside stroke teams, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists to deliver care that supports recovery and quality of life.

  • Following a severe stroke, many individuals meet the threshold for NHS Continuing Healthcare, particularly where clinical needs include enteral feeding, catheter management, seizure management, or high-dependency personal care. We can provide clinical evidence to support a CHC assessment.

  • Yes. Seizures are a recognised complication after stroke, particularly haemorrhagic stroke and SAH. Our nurses are trained in seizure management and emergency rescue medication administration, with written seizure management plans in place for every individual where this is a clinical risk.
